About

Pithoprakta

Pithoprakta received a wonderful review in the NYTimes for this production. Reviewer Gia Kourlas really got it. It was such a pleasure to work with Suzanne Farrell again after reviving this ballet for her Kennedy Center company in 2008. Brava to Suzanne, Michael, Kristin, Christine and Becky and all the amazing dancers.

The orchestra was fabulous interpreting this gut wrenching, abstract, and percussive piece by Greek mathematician/composer Iannis Xenakis. Mark Stanley's lighting helped make it eerie and other worldy—just perfect.

A big shout out to all of the artists at the NYCB costume shop and to Sarah Timberlake Studios who figured out my doodles in the first place.
