About This Project

This was originally done for what is now called Ballet NY. My husband Jim Zulakis painted the skirts with Deanna Berg. Made at Tricorne Costumes.

The New York Times
August 1, 2001

"The new piece is very orange. The dancers' pretty, soft dresses, pants and shirts, designed by Mr. Welch and Holly Hynes, have a tangerine tang, and the women's skirts flare like bright crepe poppies with every spin and twist."
Jennifer Dunning

Star Ledger

"co-designed with Holly Hynes, the woman's skirts floating in a luscious orange haze spiced with cinnamon."
